Is SwapToZec legit?

SwapToZec is a web app for swapping one cryptocurrency into another — most often into Zcash or Monero. You bring the address you want to receive at, we show you a quote, you send the deposit shown, and the destination asset is paid out to your address once the deposit is verified. There is no account-based balance and no custodial wallet for you to fund and withdraw from.

2. Review the quote: the rate, the fees, and the amount you’ll receive.
3. Send the exact deposit amount shown, on the network shown.
4. Your deposit is verified on its network before the swap proceeds.
5. The destination asset is paid out to the address you gave.

Only what a swap needs. Every swap stores the source amount, the on-chain transaction ids, the destination address you supplied, and the current status. If you create an account, we also store your email and a hashed password so we can sign you back in. That’s it — no KYC documents, no phone numbers, no ID uploads.

Guests don’t need an account. If you later sign up, the browser you used carries a signed cookie that lets us attach your past swaps to the new account. You’re never asked to type in a swap id.

Every quote shows the exchange rate, the network fee, the swap fee, and the minimum amount you’ll receive before you commit. There are no hidden spreads. A quote is time-limited; if it expires before your deposit arrives, the swap is set aside for review rather than completed at the old rate.

A few things are yours to get right, because they can’t be undone once a transaction is broadcast:

• Send the exact amount shown, on the network shown. A deposit on the wrong network, or in the wrong asset, generally cannot be recovered.
• Use a destination address you control in the correct format. The payout goes where you tell it to.
• Keep your status link. It shows every stage of the swap, including the deposit and payout transaction ids, and it is the only way back to your swap.

We ask for as little as possible: no name, no phone number, no identity document to make a swap. What we do store is listed on the privacy page.

Privacy has limits worth being clear about. Your deposit and your payout are ordinary transactions on their respective chains, visible to anyone with a block explorer. Swapping into a shielded Zcash address or a Monero address keeps the receiving side private; it does not make the sending side private.

This is the only onion address we operate. Look-alike addresses are a common way of impersonating a service, so check the address against this page — served over HTTPS from our own domain — before trusting it. In Tor Browser, visiting swaptozec.com also offers to switch to the onion automatically. The onion serves the same site and the same swaps; nothing about how a swap works changes.

Most swaps go straight through. A swap can be set aside for review when something about the deposit doesn’t match the quote — usually a different amount than the one shown, or a deposit that arrives after the quote has expired. When that happens it is either completed or refunded to the refund address you gave at swap time (or, if you didn’t give one, after you get in touch). The status page always shows where a swap stands.
