Frequently asked questions

What is Zcash?

Zcash (ZEC) is a cryptocurrency focused on privacy. It supports both transparent and shielded transactions.

Do I need an account?

No. SwapToZec does not require account creation for supported swaps. You provide a destination address and we generate a one-time deposit address.

How long does a swap take?

Most swaps complete within a few minutes, subject to network confirmations on the source chain and provider processing time.

What fees do I pay?

Every quote shows the exchange rate, the underlying network fee, and the swap fee before you confirm. The estimated minimum received is also displayed.

Which cryptocurrencies are supported?

See the Assets page for the up-to-date list served by the configured swap provider.

What happens if my deposit is late?

The quote is time-limited. If your deposit arrives after the swap window closes, the provider's late-deposit policy applies — most providers offer a fresh quote at the current rate or a refund.

Can I track my swap?

Yes. Every swap has a public status page at /swap/[id] showing the timeline, deposit and payout transaction ids, and confirmations.

What Zcash address formats are supported?

Transparent (t1…, t3…) and unified (u1…) addresses are accepted where the underlying provider supports them.

What happens if I send the wrong asset?

Deposit addresses are asset- and network-specific. Sending a different asset, or sending on the wrong network, will typically result in a lost deposit — always double-check the send screen before broadcasting.
